| Why
Thermage® PLUS? Thermage® is an
excellent skin tightening and wrinkle reducing procedure on it's own.
Combined with individualized "partner" treatments, the
cumulative benefits add up to uniquely Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation. If you think
of Thermage® as the core of achieving a younger appearance and the
added treatments as being the completion, you'll fully understand
why we recommend PLUS procedures either immediately or soon after your
Thermage® procedure.
Thermage® PLUS Botox

Why?
Thermage® remodels the facial contours with the production of new
tightly layered collagen. The most important reason to follow your
Thermage treatment with selective Botox injections is to provide a
smooth "base" for the new
collagen to build upon.
By relaxing the muscles that are
responsible for causing dynamic wrinkle, this new
smooth base gives the collagen a better opportunity to build
uniformly. If a muscle isn't capable of making a wrinkle, then the
ability of collagen to form smoothly is simply better. Forehead wrinkles, brow furrows and crows feet are the
targeted areas following your Thermage® treatment.

Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Cosmoderm or other Dermal Fillers

Why?
Dermal Fillers immediately fill in the lines and wrinkles so you get
the immediate effect of smoother, less wrinkled skin while you are
waiting for Thermage to produce the new collagen.
Since the
full effect of the collagen reproduction is complete at 6 months,
that's about the same time your Restylane will begin to subside.
Juvederm and Cosmoderm each have similar benefits and will subside
over a period of months. The biggest PLUS here is that you get the
"right now" effects and don't have to wait.
Other fillers can be used if you and Dr. Pilest decide they are
appropriate for the results you desire.

Thermage® PLUS Fraxel

Why?
The skin's surface shows age with wrinkling, mottling, pigmentation.
The only way to truly modify the outer surface before Fraxel
was by painfully removing the old skin and allowing new skin to
take it's place.
FRAXEL is a new method which gently
resurfaces the skin in small increments of tiny dots.
You get smooth, soft skin with serious fine wrinkle and deep textural
improvement that only resurfacing can accomplish. A series of
treatments step-by-step gradually
replaces the entire skin surface,
whether face, neck, hands, or chest. No raw areas, no sloughing, no
healing pain and no downtime outside of what you would normally
experience from the flaking from sunburn.
Fraxel Gentle Laser
Thermage® PLUS IPL
(Photo Facial or FotoFacial)

Why?
Most people, by the time they begin to notice sagging skin and jowls,
have skin that has suffered sun damage.
Mottling, uneven
texture, roughness, pigmentation and unwanted freckles and brown spots
are some of the more common results of California outdoor living and
repeated sun exposure.
Photo Facial, which is actually Intense Pulsed Light, will smooth and
even the skin both in texture and tone. While Thermage tightens and
rebuilds the skins inner structure and helps with wrinkling, it is not
a cure-all and skin surface problems need additional methods of
resolution.

Thermage® PLUS Cosmelan

Why?
Hyper-pigmentation, whether caused by hormonal issues such as
pregnancy or birth control pills, or caused by sun exposure, is one
problem many women find particularly bothersome and difficult to
conceal.
Cosmelan is a ultra-strength de-pigmentation
program designed to manage difficult pigmentation problems. Initial
steps are performed in the office and then maintained by an ongoing
program at home.We like it not only because it is so effective as a long term
maintenance, but because initial response is fast and it is a
"sun-friendly" program that does not require avoidance of the sun.
Cosmelan De-Pigmentation
Thermage® PLUS Vbeam

Why?
Facial spider veins and the redness of Rosacea are just as bothersome
as brownspots.
Removing or reducing the small broken veins
and redness is Vbeam's purpose. Typically not used directly after
Thermage®, but about 2 weeks after, Vbeam targets the red spider veins
commonly seen around the nose and on the cheeks. Rosacea benefits
greatly from Vbeam application and results are seen very quickly.

MicroLaserPeel
(Light to Full Resurfacing Erbium Peel)

(Full resurface
results-not Weekend Peel)
Why?
MicroLaserPeel is an actual skin "resurfacing" using an
ablative laser. The uppermost epidermal layer of the skin
becomes rough, uneven, dull and tired-looking. A true resurfacing
laser removes this layer and allows fresh new skin to take it's place.
MicroLaserPeel is a fast-recovery procedure that produces a
high-satisfaction result.
Ablative lasers ARE associated with
downtime and there is some minimal after-care required. Dr. Pilest has
recently introduced the Sciton MicroLaserPeel with excellent results.
Because the peel depth can be finely selected to epidermal depths measured in
microns, you can choose from light to aggressive. Recovery time depends on the depth of the
peel, but many patients choose a series of "light" laser peels that
take only a few days to completely recover from. It is frequently
referred to as the
"Weekend Peel".
